Mom is back to her old self. Three kittens are in new loving homes and #4 stayed. Shasta nursed until he was over 4 months old and larger than mom. She now hisses every time he comes near. I gave them some catnip from the 99 cents store to restore some playfulness in her. I think she liked it.

They are 5 weeks old. They are starting to eat some of mom’s solid food and poop tiny poops. There are 4 of them and they all look like each other. There are 2 boys and 2 girls. One girl is the runt of the group and Horchata’s favorite. We named her Pepita (Little Pepper). I thought it was the orange cat howling for her in the middle of the night that got her. Apparently not.
Cat update: Kittens eyes are completely open. They are beginning to hobble around and bump into stuff like a pain killer addict on intervention. Owner of the house I am renting is coming by tomorrow morning to see how we’ve been caring for the pad. Yikes! Holy Clean the fucking house quick Batman! Oh yeah and he doesn’t know a thing about the cat, let alone it’s 4 offspring.
April 24th List
Best Mom -n-law on the planet arrives: She has survived shingles and 7 teeth pulled. But she wouldn’t miss seeing her grandkids and the opportunity to have them all to herself. She’s one helluva woman. Her birthday is today. I still have to get a gift tonight! And food shop. And study!
Chapter 12 Quiz in Radiologic Electronics: Last test before the final. I can’t afford to screw this up.
We depart for Coachella: I am almost packed. I have ten thousand shirts and two pairs of shorts. Not quite balanced I know…
I will be back with photographic documentation.
So those baby kitties still haven’t opened their eyes on this 11th day of their birth. We are all eager to play with them. Although they are 3 times the size they were when they were born, they don’t do much but eat and sleep. Gettin’ more fuzzy by the day. Theres a nice chunky one I favor. Been calling him “Gordo”. I know I can’t keep all these cats but I can’t bare to rip them from their Momma.
Which reminds me I just saw Juno, last night. Liked it. Saw Micheal Clayton. Loved it.
Horchata is going to say goodbye to some guitar geek on Saturday after I get home from work. Apparently if you dig pedals, you like cats too.
Getting ready for my trip. Got the greenlight from the kids’ Grandma.

I have got to say that I am so sorry Jack Johnson killed Coachella. None of my friends are going either
But nothing could stop Horchata and I from eating ice cream in the desert.
As you know my cat is multiplying. We have about two weeks to go until there are more fuzz balls around the house. She is generally a small cat, not like those over fed Garfield wannabes I see in the non-children households. Now it appears she has two large saddlebags strapped to her hips. Pregnancy has tamed her down. She purrs and rubs on everything/one, yet is quite lethargic. She is clumsy when she does come up to eat her food that placed up high so the dog(hog) won’t get it. She will lay in our bed and we can feel kitty paws kicking on through her large gray mound of fur.
My life feels impregnated with responsibilities and tasks. Dauntingly, crammed in with an impending doom if I don’t succeed and it’s kicking me in my sides. Unstudied for test resulting in poor grade-pow, a jab to the side. Accumulating dishes and Mounting laundry- a fluttering bubble. Kids on spring break and Mom and Dad still have to work -a power kick straight to the ribs.
I’m just going with it. She’s going have those kittens and I’m going have those stresses.
Here’s to giving birth. Ready or not.

Or Tell Tail sign of cat pregnancy, Pink nipples.

So Pepper started in with the witty, sardonic comments, the whole I’m so older than my age Dawson Creek business. Now she’s walking around in this snug black and white shirt. I’m not quite sure but it looks like she’s put on some poundage.
Yeah, I’m gonna be a kitty Grandma in 6 weeks.

Aw, it’s Sibling Rivalry… She doesn’t stand for Sugar sniffing her butt but she does give her a purr and a cuddle in the morning.
